PARAMOUNT, Calif. (KTLA) – A mother of 11 was treated to a birthday gift she will never forget.
Emelia De-Four, who just turned 99, received a shopping spree on Friday at her local 99 Cents Only Store.
De-Four, who was born in Trinidad and Tobago, has lived in Paramount for the past 39 years.
Each Sunday after she attends church at Our Lady of the Rosary in Paramount, De-Four heads to her neighborhood 99 Cents Only Store to do her shopping, according to family members.
Her daughter Ruphina Allen entered her into the contest and Emelia won a 99th birthday party at the store, along with a shopping spree.
She was told she could fill her shopping cart with whatever she wanted.
Emelia was photographed pushing the cart around the store, and grabbing items she liked.
The cart was filled with religious candles, bottled water, fruit and vegetables.
“The dollar total for Emelia’s shopping spree was $143.88,” according to 99 Cents Only spokeswoman Sarah Correa.
Emilia’s family and friends accompanied her to the celebration.
