AGOURA HILLS, Calif. (KTLA) — Residents of Lake Lindero in Agoura Hills were dealing with a stinky situation on Tuesday.
Over the weekend, residents woke up to find dozens of dead fish washing up on the shore.
More dead fish surfaced on Monday and residents said the smell was overwhelming.
“We wanted to have a BBQ and invite people over, but its kind of hard to do that when you have this stench of fish starting to die,” resident Matt Touquet said.
KTLA was unable to reach anyone with the homeowners association which manages the privately owned property.
But a spokesman for L.A. County Fish and Wildlife said large fish deaths often occur naturally when the temperature rises and water levels drop.
