WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KTLA) — An American Airlines trainee from West Hollywood indicted on federal charges in May was expected to plead guilty next week to phoning in a fake bomb threat.
According to court documents, Patrick Cau called in several false bomb threats to United Airlines from pay phones near his home in Los Angeles.
The airline estimated it lost more than $250,000 due to flight cancelations and delays.
Cau, who also goes by the name of Patrick Kaiser, was training in Fort Worth to be a flight attendant when it was discovered he was on the TSA’s no-fly list.
Cau was expected to serve up to five years in prison and pay $250,000 in restitution, according to the plea deal.
