COVINA, Calif. (KTLA) — A homicide investigation continued on Wednesday following the discovery of a burning body on the side of a road in Covina.
A deputy on patrol spotted something burning near the intersection of East Covina Hills Road and East Via Verde Street around 3:45 a.m. on Tuesday, authorities said.
The deputy used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames, and discovered that the object was a body.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has determined that the victim was a man, officials said Wednesday.
However, the victim’s identity and cause of death had not yet been determined.
