A porn performer has tested positive for HIV, leading an industry association to call a moratorium on filming.

Free Speech Coalition, a nationwide trade association for the adult entertainment industry, confirmed the positive HIV test but would not say when or where it took place. The group also did not give any details about the affected performer.

The group said in a statement that it is working with a doctor affiliated with Adult Production Health & Safety Services “contact and treat performers for any possible exposure involving the primary patient” and that additional confirmatory tests are being done on the performer who tested positive.

“Because of the rigorous APHSS protocols, the situation was accessed quickly and — most importantly — action was taken to ensure the protocols were followed,” coalition Chief Executive Diane Duke said.  The coalition said there was no indication the infection had been contracted on-set.
