MAUI, Hawaii (KTLA) — A German tourist, who lost her right arm in a shark attack off Maui last week, died Wednesday, according to family members.
Jana Lutteropp, 20, was attacked while snorkeling about 50 yards offshore at White Rock beach in Maui.
Lutteropp was remembered by her mother, Jutta Lutteropp, and sister, Julia Broeske, as “a very beautiful, strong young woman who was always laughing, and we will forever remember her that way.”
“Jana fought hard to stay alive,” her relatives said. “However, we are sad to say that she lost her fight today.”
This was the fourth shark attack in Maui this year.
