HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. (KTLA) — The son of a 66-year-old woman whose body was found in the garage of a Hacienda Heights home has been arrested and booked on suspicion of murder, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department announced on Friday.
Sheriff’s deputies discovered the body after responding to a possible kidnapping in progress in the 15000 block of Las Tunas Drive Thursday morning.
The victim, identified as Vilma Chau, was found in the trunk of her car, with her hands and feet bound, investigators said.
Chau’s son, 43-year-old Clifton Huang, was detained at the scene on a possible probation violation, according to authorities.
Huang was later booked on suspicion of murder in connection with her death, the sheriff’s department announced.
Huang was being held on $2 million bail.
