Swimmers Warned to Watch Out for Stingrays at SoCal Beaches

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KTLA) – As Southern Californians flock to the beach this Labor Day weekend, lifeguards warned them to look out for stingrays.

StingrayFridayOver the past few weeks several stingray attacks were reported, according to Huntington Beach lifeguards.

Warm weather and water attract the stingrays, with most of the recent attacks reported in Huntington Beach and Seal Beach.

Beachgoers were urged to watch where they step when entering the water.

Stingray attacks can be very painful.
