VALINDA, Calif. (KTLA) -  An 8-month-old infant who drowned inside a home in the San Gabriel Valley community of Valinda, was left unattended in a bathtub with two young siblings, authorities said Saturday.

The baby’s mother was bathing the infant with its 1-year-old sister and 2-year-old brother when she stepped away for 10 to 15 minutes, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Irys Alvarez told the Los Angeles Times.

Paramedics responded to the family’s home in the 1500 block of Pass and Covina Road and transported the baby to an area hospital, where the child was pronounced dead, officials said.

The baby’s name was not known.

The two other children were taken into protective custody by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services as the case is investigated.

What the heck was so ''important'' that she had to leave two infants and a baby in a tub unattended like that? What a idiotic numbskull.! I'd see to it that her other kids are taken away permanently and she gets fixed……What a disgrace. :(

"Stepped away for 10-15 minutes"? "Stepped away" is inherently momentary and that would be bad enough. Coulda made another baby in 10-15 minutes the way she breeds. This is criminal negligence.
