TEMECULA, Calif. (KTLA) – A bus carrying tourists from Los Angeles to a casino in San Diego County crashed late Sunday night injuring ten people, authorities said.
The crash happened around 11 p.m. near the intersection of Pala Temecula and Arouba Roads, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver told investigators the vehicle experienced brake failure, the CHP said.
The bus lost control as it approached a curve on the road, hit a metal guard rail, then smashed into trees, the CHP said.
Of the 19 people on the bus, the driver and nine passengers were injured.
All were taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The bus was on its way to Casino Pauma, the CHP said.
An investigation was underway.
