Gayle Anderson was live in Los Angeles for “It’s Cool At the Zoo.” Although summer may be over, September can be a real scorcher in Los Angeles! To help L.A. families stay cool despite the heat, the L.A. Zoo is hosting “It’s Cool at the Zoo,” a series of engaging and fun programs taking place every weekend in September through Sunday, September 29th.
Weekend activities for the whole family include painting on the Mobile Mural Lab, ice sculpture demonstrations, and animal-themed cartoons in the Auditorium. In addition, visitors will learn how many of the Zoo’s animals adapt to keep cool in the heat. For a complete schedule of events, check out the Los Angeles Zoo’s website.
Stay cool with 2-for-1 ICEEs all month long! Buy one ICEE (small or large) and get a second one free. Refillable souvenir cups are excluded from this offer. Get a coupon for this deal in the gate handout when you enter. Limit one per visit. Offer valid each day through Sunday, September 29th with paid admission.
The Los Angeles Zoo is open Monday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The zoo is closed December 25th. Please note that the zoo starts to put animals away at 4 p.m. Admission is $18 for adults (ages 13+); $15 for seniors (ages 62+); $13 for children (ages 2-12); and free for children under 2. A military discount is available for active and retired military personnel and their immediate family (spouse and children). Present a valid military ID at the time of ticket purchase to receive $3 off a regular adult admission and $2 off a regular child admission (ages 2-12). This discount cannot be combined with any other discount offer.
Parking at the L.A. Zoo is FREE. On select days throughout the year, the L.A. Zoo offers Preferred Parking for a $5 charge, payable on-site.
