The man entered the home through an unlocked window.

He was confronted by a resident and fled, police said in a statement.

That incident was believed to be related to a similar break in on August 8, in the 500 block of nearby Stanford Court.

In that case, a witness called police after seeing someone suspicious entering a residence through a window, police said.

An arriving officer chased the man, but he got away, according to Irvine police.

The department released composite sketches of the man, from the two incidents.

He was described as Hispanic or Asian, between 5’6” and 5’10” tall with a thin build, black hair, and brown eyes.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the Irvine Police Department.
