Ex-Lakers forward Lamar Odom was charged Friday with one count of driving under the influence in a case that involved him allegedly weaving on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley last month.
The misdemeanor charge against Odom, also a former Clipper, was confirmed by a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.
Odom, 33, was pulled over Aug. 30 by California Highway Patrol officers after his SUV was seen driving erratically on the 101 Freeway in Studio City.
He was driving at about 50 mph in a “serpentine manner,” according to a CHP report on the arrest.
Odom showed “objective signs of intoxication” and “was unable to perform field sobriety tests,” the CHP report stated.
“Nothing was found inside the vehicle. No alcohol, no drug paraphernalia, there was nothing out of the ordinary or unusual found inside the vehicle,” Officer Leland Tang of the CHP said at the time.
Odom checked into a rehabilitation facility last week, People magazine reported.
The Lakers traded Odom to the Dallas Mavericks in 2011. After playing part of the 2011-12 season in Dallas, he was released. He then signed with the Clippers for 2012-13 year, but was not re-signed by the team and became a free agent July 1.
Odom is married to reality television star Khloe Kardashian.
