Gayle Anderson was live in Santa Monica with a preview of the 8th Annual AltCar Expo, which returns to Santa Monica Friday and Saturday, September 20th and 21st. This event is the leading forum for presentations and demonstrations of the latest advancements in alternative technology vehicles and transportation, urban planning, energy efficiency and carbon footprint reduction education.
Along with the support of Governor Brown, the Obama Administration’s commitment to critical investments in advanced vehicle, fuel technologies, and public transit, along with the toughest mandated fuel economy standards for passenger cars in U.S. history, make the AltCar Expo particularly relevant to Southern Californians.
This year’s Expo will feature a number of vehicle debuts as well as Ride&Drive events that will include: electric, natural gas, propane, biofuel, ethanol, hydrogen fuel cell and hybrid powered technologies. The Ride & Drive events are free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Co-presented by the City of Santa Monica and the UCLA Luskin Center for Innovations, Friday’s AltCar Fleet Conference features distinguished speakers from leading automakers, policymakers, alternative-fuel infrastructure planners, and fleet managers who will share the latest information on alternative vehicle technologies and infrastructures. The fleet conference will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, September 20th.
