Man Wanted For Shooting at O.C. Bar Arrested After Standoff in Garden Grove

A man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting  outside an Orange County bar was taken into custody Friday morning after a standoff with sheriff’s deputies in Garden Grove, authorities said.

The standoff started around midnight near the intersection of Lampson and Haster, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Leonbardo “Banda” Valladares was arrested Friday

Deputies were trying to track down Leonbardo “Banda” Valladares, when he barricaded himself inside a home, the Sheriff’s department said.

After about three hours, the 43-year-old was taken into custody without incident on suspicion of murder, according to Lt. Jeff Hallock.

Valladares was wanted connection with the shooting death of a man outside the Oasis Bar in Stanton on Sunday.

The body of Francisco Salgado Torres, 48, was found around 2 a.m. near the intersection of W. Cerritos and Knott avenues, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators believe Torres was involved in some type of confrontation with Valladares.
