Burger King Debuts Lower-Fat ‘Satisfries’

Burger King introduced new Satisfries on Tuesday, a lower-calorie version of its french fries. And the fast food chain is using them to pick a fight with the golden arches.

Burger King says its crinkle cut Satisfries have 40% less fat and 30% fewer calories than the leading french fry. If you read the fine print on the Burger King website, you’ll see they’re talking about McDonald’s.

According to Burger King, the new Satisfries are 150.5 calories per serving while McDonald’s fries are 226.8 calories per serving. If you compare the Satisfries to Burger King’s own classic french fries, a small order of Satisfries is 270 calories and 11 grams of fat while a classic small order of fries is 340 calories and 15 grams of fat.

“In essence, the batter on the Satisfries is slightly less porous than other French fry batter,” a Burger King representative told the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday. “In turn, the amount of fat in the serving is reduced versus the leading French fries.”
