blogpicGusty west to northwest winds will affect Southwestern California through tonight. Southern sections of Santa Barbara county and the Santa Ynez range will have north winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 to 45 mph through late tonight. Across the mountains of Ventura and Los Angeles counties, west to northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph will continue through tonight with the strongest winds along the I-5 corridor. In the Antelope Valley, southwest to west winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph are expected through late tonight. Developing low pressure over the deserts will force strong westerly winds through the mountains and into the deserts. Local gusts to 60 mph are possible through the windiest passes and on the desert foothills. Areas of blowing dust and sand will reduce visibility at times and create locally hazardous travel conditions, especially for motorists in high-profile vehicles.
