An area of high pressure developing over Nevada will help induce a period of offshore winds late tonight through midday Friday. Strongest winds will occur during the morning hours, with northeasterly winds 20 to 30 mph and local gusts to 45 mph. This will be a widespread wind event from Santa Barbara to San Diego. The main impacts will be along the mountains, deserts, passes and canyons. Be aware that there could be blowing sand and dust. As the winds develop, warmer and drier conditions are anticipated. The combination of the gusty offshore winds and low relative humidity will result in elevated fire weather conditions across inland areas.
