Police in Glendale were searching for a hit-and-run driver after two women were struck Thursday night.
The women, ages 59 and 73, were hit just after 8 p.m. near the intersection of West California and Central avenues, according to Glendale police Sgt. Tom Lorenz.
The women were walking in a crosswalk with a green light when they were struck by a car described as a four-door white or gray compact.
Both were taken to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.
The 73-year-old woman was admitted in grave condition, Lorenz said. The second woman, 59, was being treated for serious injuries.
Their names were not released.
