Search Continues for Tourist Reported Missing While Hiking in Lake Arrowhead
The search continued Thursday for a lost hiker from Germany who was last seen on the Pinnacle Trail in North Lake Arrowhead.
Aylof Krost became separated from his hiking party at about 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
About 20 search and rescue members where in the area looking for Krost on Wednesday, and that number was expected to double Thursday, sheriff’s spokeswoman Jodi Miller said.
Search dogs and aerial support were also sent to assist in the search Thursday, Miller said.
Krost was believed to be an experienced hunter and hiker. He was wearing a light blue long sleeve shirt with dark blue denim jeans and a pair of hiking boots, but had no other equipment with him when he disappeared, according to the department.
Krost was in Lake Arrowhead for a business conference, Miller said.
