It was not known where she lived, a press release from the coroner’s office said.

It appeared Tinnell had been lying in the street when the cruiser drove by, Buena Park police said.

The officer saw an object in the road and tried to swerve, but it was too late, police told KTLA 5.

Buena Park police asked the California Highway Patrol to lead the investigation.

The officer involved in the crash was not injured.
