At this year’s fundraiser, Special Olympics will honor Stephen Berman, President and CEO of JAKKS Pacific, Inc., one of the top five largest toy companies in America. He co-founded JAKKS in 1995 and has since worked tirelessly as an Ambassador to many of America’s greatest brands, including Disney, Nickelodeon, Nintendo, LucasArts, Cabbage Patch Kids, Black & Decker and Marvel to name a few. Throughout his career, Berman has been a dedicated corporate humanitarian, committed to paying it forward to help children and families in need. He has spearheaded a myriad of corporate philanthropic programs, and as a result of his personal passion to help children and make a difference in the lives of those in need, he created JAKKS Cares, the philanthropic division of JAKKS Pacific which aims to help children all over the world to smile, play and succeed.

Handfuls of celebrities and sports figures will visit the pier for the fundraiser, with Maria Shriver and Santa Monica councilman Bobby Shriver attending as honorary chairs. Since 1997, Pier del Sol has raised nearly $8 million, benefiting and changing the lives of more than 14,000 Special Olympic Southern California athletes.
