Driver Taken Into Custody After Pursuit That Ends at Police Station

After a pursuit by Los Angeles police through the San Fernando Valley, a driver was taken into custody in front of LAPD’s Mission Station on Tuesday evening.


The driver was surrounded by patrol cars after a pursuit through the San Fernando Valley on Tuesday.

The pursuit began just before 5:30 p.m. at Arleta Avenue and Osborne Street in Pacoima, with the driver of a white sedan being chased through surface streets in near Whiteman Airport.

The driver was suspected of reckless driving, Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Albert Gonzalez said.

The vehicle headed onto the 5 Freeway and then back onto surface streets during Tuesday evening rush hour.

The male driver slowed down near the LAPD Mission Station in Mission Hills and was taken into custody shortly afterward, at about 5:45 p.m.

It appeared that police shot the man with a nonlethal round, aerial video showed. He was carried into the nearby police station.
