A powerful earthquake struck in the Gulf of California Saturday off the western coast of Mexico.
The magnitude 6.5 quake was reported at 10:54 a.m., and was centered 47 miles southwest of Etchoropo in Mexico’s Sonora state, according to the US Geological Survey.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
The quake was initially reported as a magnitude 6.8.
At this time, there is no immediate danger of a tsunami, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
