Investigators believe the group posted “hundreds of photos and videos of children between 1 and 16 years old” engaging in sex acts with adults on the Internet, sheriff’s department officials said in a news release.

The suspects, who range in age and had homes spread across Southern California — from the Antelope Valley to Orange County — were arrested through the week for various child pornography charges.

Rolando Garcia, 19, of South Los Angeles, 43-year-old Mario Aburto of West Covina, and 72-year-old Jon Johnson of Fullerton were the first to be taken into custody on Wednesday and Thursday for the possession and distribution of the illicit images.

Police then detained 52-year-old Gregory MacClean on Friday morning under the same charges.

Soraya Solimano, 53, of Palmdale was also arrested this week in conjunction with the scheme; she was booked for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.

The arrests cap a six-week investigation into the operation that was conducted by the Los Angeles County Cyber Crimes Task Force, a group that includes officials from the FBI, L.A. County District Attorney’s Office and the county sheriff’s department.

Authorities hope to identify the young victims of these pornographic crimes, who are believed to live in locations across the globe.

Anyone with information about this case was asked to contact Detective John Howard at 562-619-5257.
