Survey Suggests Air Travelers Not Comfortable With Female Pilots
A new survey conducted by a travel agency in England found that air travelers feel more comfortable with a man piloting a plane.
The survey, conducted by Sunshine.co.uk, found that 51 percent of those questioned didn’t feel at ease with a woman at the controls.
Those who preferred a male pilot said they are more skilled and that women would not handle pressure situations as well, the Daily Mail reported.
However, those who were fine with a woman flying the plane said male pilots were too “hot-headed” or easily distracted in a crisis, according to the website.
About 25 percent said the sex of their pilot did not matter.
