Police: Manhattan Beach Thieves Acted Like Mother and Daughter

Police asked the public for help Wednesday in their search for two women who allegedly stole a woman’s wallet in Manhattan Beach.

The incident happened in the Trader Joe’s store located at 1800 Rosecrans Avenue on Oct. 10.

The victim was shopping in the store when her wallet was taken from her purse, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department.

Surveillance video from the same day showed the two alleged thieves entering the Best Buy in El Segundo where they bought an Apple MacBook using one of the stolen credit cards, police said.

The women then went to the Manhattan Village Mall where they purchased two Cartier sunglasses. From there they bought $120 worth of cigarets at the Vons located at 410 Manhattan Beach Blvd.

The pair ware acting like a mother and daughter, according to store employees.
