Missing Wildomar Teen David Soto

David Soto, 18, had been missing since Tuesday.

David Soto, 18, was reported missing Tuesday after he left Elsinore High School without permission, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Authorities set up a command post near an intersection where Soto was last seen on Tuesday, Lt. Zachary Hall of the sheriff’s department said.

A tracking team was called in after footprints that matched Soto’s shoes were found nearby.

The team followed his tracks to a vacant property in Lakeland Village. A bloodhound then found Soto about 3 miles up a hill, Hall said.

Soto, who is autistic and has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, was transported to a nearby hospital in good condition, according to the sheriff’s department.
