Cars could be seen trying to navigate around the rockslide, Malibu, Nov. 11, 2013 (KTLA)

The slide happened just before 7 a.m at the tunnel, causing traffic to back up, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP issued a SigAlert, so work crews could clean up the mess.

Malibu Canyon Road, which connects Malibu to the San Fernando Valley, was cleared about an hour later.
