A very cold air mass will filter across Southwestern California, bringing widespread subfreezing temperatures. Hard freeze conditions (temperatures at or below 28 degrees) are likely Wednesday morning for San Luis Obispo County Interior Valleys. Thursday and Friday mornings, the potential for hard freezing will spread into the Antelope Valley, Santa Ynez Valley, the Central Coast, Cuyama Valley and Ojai Valley. For areas such as the Santa Barbara South Coast, Santa Clarita Valley, San Fernando Valley and coastal valleys of Ventura County, frost will be possible Thursday and Friday mornings as temperatures drop to below 32 degrees. Ensure preparations are made to protect crops and sensitive vegetation, livestock and pets. Insulate any pipes exposed to the outdoors around your home. Inspect and clean heaters and, or furnaces to make sure the units are working properly. Click on the image, to enlarge it.
