Man Hospitalized After Being Shot, Wounded by El Monte Police

A man was struck by gunfire in an officer-involved shooting Friday morning in El Monte, authorities said.

The incident occurred at 3:57 a.m. in the 3500 block of Cogswell Road, according to a statement issued by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The 34-year-old man was transported to a hospital after the shooting, the statement said. His condition was not immediately known.

No officers were injured.

Sheriff’s detectives were assisting El Monte Police department personnel in their investigation at the scene, authorities said.
