Law-enforcement officials are asking for the public’s help in finding a man wanted in connection with three stabbing incidents, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Alfred Tapia, 34, is wanted for attempted murder after a series of alleged attacks last week in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties, according to a statement issued by the Sheriff’s Department.
Tapia is suspected of going to a relative’s home in the 8700 block of Olympic Way in Pico Rivera on Dec. 3 and using a knife to attack the relative, causing “serious life-threatening injuries,” the statement said.
On Dec. 5, Tapia allegedly wielded a hammer and a knife in an attack on a friend in the 10500 block of Nashville Avenue in unincorporated Whittier, sheriff’s officials said. The victim was stabbed multiple times.
Tapia is also suspected of seriously injuring a family member in a stabbing attack in Chino on Dec. 6, authorities said. The incident is being investigated by the Chino Police Department.
L.A. County sheriff’s detectives planned to discuss the incidents at a news conference Wednesday morning.
