Dry, gusty Santa Ana winds on Saturday fueled the threat of wildfires in Southern California, authorities said.

A widespread red flag warning was issued for the Southland through Sunday evening.

Strong winds were expected to pick up in some coastal and valley areas overnight, officials said.

The National Weather service said that if a fire were ignited, it could be fast-moving and threaten homes.
