The alleged gunman arrested in connection with a deadly shooting at an apartment building in Reseda was identified Saturday as Ricardo Javier Tapia, authorities said.
Tapia, 32, was accused of shooting two people at the building in the 7500 block of Canby Avenue on Friday just after 6:30 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers responded after callers reported seeing an armed man and hearing at least 20 shots, Officer Rosario Herrera said.
One man, whose name was not released, died at the scene, police said.
A second victim, a woman, was transported to an area hospital in unknown condition, according to Herrera.
Tapia was taken into custody outside the building after charging officers who were able to subdue him, according to LAPD Capt. John Egan.
