The incident occurred Oct. 15 at 4th Street and Lacy Street, according to a statement issued Monday by the Santa Ana Police Department. The victim was transported to Western Medical Center in critical condition, where she remains “fully dependent,” in the care of the hospital staff, the statement said.

The woman’s condition has left her unable to communicate.

Officers have been unable to determine her identity; they believe she is a resident of the area where the collision took place.

“Her fingerprints were compared in all local, state, and federal identification databases, which did not return with any matches,” the Police Department said. The woman did not match the description of any missing persons in Santa Ana.

Anyone who recognizes the woman was urged to contact Collision Investigator Bao of the Santa Ana Police Traffic Division at 714-245-8214.
