Four People Injured in Fire at Nursing Home in Artesia

Four people were injured Saturday when a fire broke out at a nursing home in Artesia, authorities said.

The fire was reported around 7:30 a.m. at Care Meridian, located in the 17000 block of Gridley Road (map), according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The fire was confined to one room and may have started on a bed, the fire department said.

The four people who suffered injuries were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation.

It was unknown if they were residents at the facility.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
