SpcaLA’s is struggling to get through a holiday season food shortage. The non-profit needs both wet and dry puppy and dog food as well as cat and kitten food. SpcaLA says it uses an average of 30,000 pounds of pet food a year.

While we’re on the subject of animals, stop by the L.A. Zoo to see the brand new six Chilean Flamingo chicks. The fluffy, gray youngsters – three male and three female – are one month to four and a half months old. These babies are the first Chilean flamingo chicks to hatch at the L.A. Zoo in more than 10 years. The gray feathers will become pink when the babies mature at the age of three to four years.
This is an unusual Christmas gift. A whale watching cruise. Marine life experts say this is a good time to take a look because they say an unprecedented number of Sperm whales, Humpback whales, Fin Whales, AND Orcas can be seen off the coast.
