Police in Hawthorne were searching for a gunman who shot and wounded a store owner during a robbery at the El Bodeguero Market on Tuesday.

In a bizarre twist, the robber reportedly apologized after the shooting. But, police said, his regret didn’t stop him from taking hundreds of dollars from the cash register as he made his getaway.

KTLA’s Doug Kolk spoke with the victim’s sister.
