An investigation was underway Sunday following a fire at a paper recycling center in Commerce.
The fire started outside the two-story building in the 2900 block of Vail Avenue (map) just after 1 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The flames spread into the building but did not appear to have burned through the roof, according to a witness.
Firefighters used foam to put out the blaze, fire officials said.
No injuries were reported.
