The Palo family home was one of five houses destroyed at the height of the Colby Fire in Glendora on Thursday.
In response to their loss, a family friend set up a Go-Fund-Me campaign to help her friends “pick-up the pieces” and start over.
“Our dear friends woke up to a a wall of flames coming their way the morning of the Glendora fire,” Jenny Miller Blacksher wrote on the donation page. “With very little time to evacuate, they were able to get out unharmed. Unfortunately, John, Gena, Breanna, and Gavin lost their home ~ everything in it destroyed.”
In less than 24 hours, the link has been shared 1.8 million times. So far, the site has raised $12,000 in donations.
“We all face hardships along the way, but when our friends and loved ones are going through such a tremendous loss, they need our support,” Blacksher wrote.
