The search continued Monday for the gunman who shot and killed a man in a vehicle in Lancaster, authorities said.
The deadly shooting occurred at approximately 8:32 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of 20th Street West and West Avenue K (map), according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The male victim was reportedly sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle stopped at a red light, when the gunman pulled up next to the man and fired several rounds at him, officials said.
As the victim drove through the intersection, the assailant fired several more rounds at the man, striking him multiple times in the upper torso, the news release stated.
The victim – who was identified as being a man between 25 and 30 years old – was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. His name was not immediately released.
The alleged killer was only described as a male.
