Suspected Arsonist Arrested in Series of Santa Monica Fires

A 54-year-old homeless man was under arrest in connection with a series of arsons in Santa Monica spanning a 10 day period, police announced Monday.

The fires, which began Dec. 30, were set at various locations in the center of the city and led to damage at three apartment complexes, according to a news release from the Santa Monica Police Department.

The suspected arsonist was identified as Balbinder Singh Sihota.  He was arrested on Jan. 9 and later charged with four felony counts of arson, the release stated.
