Car Crashes Into Santa Fe Springs Building; Suspected DUI Driver in Custody

A suspected drunk driver was in police custody Friday after a car crashed into an office building in Santa Fe Springs, according to authorities.

Officers discovered the car had crashed into the front entrance of a building on the 13000 block of Leffingwell Road shortly after 2:30 a.m., Whittier police Sgt. Dominic Iraldo said.

The driver barely missed hitting pillars critical to the structure’s soundness, according to Iraldo. The building was not red tagged.

No one was believed to have been inside at the time.
