Three people were hospitalized Sunday night after an apparently gang-related shooting in Long Beach, police said.
Officers were conducting a routine patrol about 7:02 p.m. when they heard gunshots at Anaheim Street and Lewis Avenue (map) and determined that a shooting had occurred, said Marlene Arona, spokeswoman for the Long Beach Police Department.
Three people were transported to local hospitals with unknown injuries, Arona said. Their conditions were not immediately known.
Anaheim Street was closed between Alamitos Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue as officers searched for possible suspects, police said.
No other details were available.
