The brig Lady Washington, the official ship of the State of Washington and the topsail ketch Hawaiian Chieftain are in town, docked in Oxnard.

Governor Jerry Brown has declared California is in a drought emergency, meaning we all have to cut our water use by, at least 20-per cent.

If you are worried about how to care for your lawn and landscaping during a drought, you might find some useful information at the Theodore Payne Foundation for Wildflowers and Native Plants.

The foundation has a Saturday class teaching us about drought tolerant plants and how to grow water sipping California Native Plants.

They say there is an abundance of krill, tiny crustaceans whales love, is in the area, which in turn has brought a large number and variety of whales to feed at they migrate south for the winter.
