Justin Noblitt, 23, of Pomona, allegedly confessed to robbing three 7-Eleven stores and a Shell gas station after being taken into custody Monday night, according to a news release from Chino police.

Surveillance video showing a knife-wielding man robbing one of the stores was released by authorities on Monday.

Apparently, someone watching the news recognized Noblitt and contacted the Chino Police Department.

Noblitt was already being detained by Claremont police officers on an unrelated matter when detectives went to follow up on the lead.

He was arrested without incident in the 500 block of Sycamore Avenue in Claremont at about 11:30 p.m., according to the release.

Once in custody, police say Noblitt claimed responsibility for up to four more robberies last Friday. Detectives were following up on those claims.

Noblitt was being treated at a hospital for injuries received prior to his arrest.

Noblitt will be booked once he is released from medical care, according to authorties.

Anyone with further information was asked to contact the Chino Police Department at 909-628-1234.
