Man Wounded in Gardena Officer-Involved Shooting: Sheriff’s Department

Sheriff’s detectives and Gardena police were continuing an investigation into an officer-involved shooting that left a man in critical condition Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

policetapeThe shooting was reported in the 1100 block of West Gardena Boulevard (map) shortly before 4 a.m., sheriff’s officials said in a news release.

The wounded man – whose name was not released – was transported to a local hospital, according to the release.

No officers were injured.

Authorities recovered a handgun at the scene.

They did not release any further details.
