Suspect in Yorba Linda Killing ID’d; Relationship to Victim Unknown

Authorities on Wednesday identified the suspect in the slaying of a woman who was found dead beside a road in Yorba Linda.

Larry Soo Shin, 35, Yorba Linda, was arrested on suspicion of the murder of an unidentified African-American woman who was found lying at the side of Live Oak Lane (map) just before 6 a.m. Tuesday.

A bicyclist called 911 after discovering the body in the neighborhood of multimillion-dollar homes.

Shin was arrested Tuesday afternoon but not identified by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department till Wednesday.

He was believed to have attacked the victim “at or near where the body was located,” according to a sheriff’s news release.

An autopsy revealed Wednesday that the woman died from multiple stab wounds to the upper body, the news release stated.

Investigators still do not know what the victim’s relationship to Shin was.
