Four People Sought in Violent Shoplifting Spree at Marshalls

Police in Torrance were searching Thursday for two men and two women involved in a scuffle with a store employee while allegedly stealing merchandise from a Marshall’s store.

marshalls-suspectsIt happened on Monday, Jan. 20 around 5:30 p.m. at a Marshalls in the 3500 block of Carson Avenue.

marshalls-1The four people being sought used reusable Marshalls’ bags to conceal as much as $1000 worth of clothing and handbags, according to a crime bulletin from Torrance police.

When one of the women tried to leave the store, she set off an alarm, the bulletin stated.

She asked an employee if she’d like to check her purse, then aggressively pushed her to the floor, according to police.

At that point, surveillance video showed all four running out of the store. No vehicle was identified in connection with the crime, police said.
