Three prisoners were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries after the 1:43 p.m. collision at Third Street and Chestnut Avenue (map), according to Long Beach Police Department Sgt. Megan Zabel.

The vehicle involved in the minor hit-and-run was last seen traveling south on Chestnut Avenue, Zabel said. It was described as a gray compact car, she said.

The car’s driver was not in custody and an investigation was continuing.
